The Ki-61 served the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force as a high altitude fighter interceptor. The Ki-61 was code named “Tony” by allied aircraft spotters and the fliers who flew against it. The aircraft was well regarded as a potent adversary but proved inadequate to reverse the course of the war and prevent the final defeat of Imperial Japan in 1945. This kit includes new markings for 2 Imperial Japanese Army aircraft.
