2016 Upper Deck Doctor Strange trading cards are going fully high-end. And not just with inserts. Each hobby box has just seven cards.
Of those seven cards, two are Memorabilia Cards with swatches of costume from when the film was made. Multi-costume cards are also included on the 2016 Upper Deck Doctor Strange checklist.
Autographs, sketch cards and other premium-style inserts combine to land one per box. The list of confirmed autograph signers isn’t long but some of the big names are on it. Among them? Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch. Others include Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton, Scott Adkins and Michael Stuhlbarg. It’s possible more actors could be added by the time the set releases.
Coin Cards highlight key issues of the Doctor Strange comic. The coins embedded in these cards are the same as the original cover price. Select cards have parallels signed by Stan Lee.
All other insert sets in 2016 Upper Deck Doctor Strange are numbered to 100 or less. There are four in total. Among them is Book of Cagliostro, which are book cards that highlight the main characters from the film.
The product does have a base set. With all 50 cards numbered to 150, it’s going to be tough to put together. All have two parallels, Silver LTFX (/50) and Gold LTFX (/25).
Although most of Upper Deck’s Marvel sets have a cheaper retail version, we have confirmed that there won’t be one for Doctor Strange. Hobby is the only type found with traditional packs. It will also be offer on Upper Deck’s ePack platform.
