Check out this cool video.  Not a whole lot of Lego is featured, but there’s a lot of Transformers!

KRE-O Transformers

Saturday, August 13th, 2011

So we have finally received the newest Transformers product! It’s called KRE-O and it’s Hasbro’s answer to Lego! Right now, we have a Bumblebee set but I’ve seen others. The set builds both the robot and the car, but I don’t think it “transforms” exactly. It’s not a big deal because building these things is probably the most fun.

In other Transformers news, we have some Transformers Arks in stock and I’ve heard that it’s pretty cool from some other customers. It has lights and sounds and it can fit the Legend Class Transformers. The Autobot Ark it self was described as being “dinner plate sized.” The price is right too. The box doesn’t make it look like much, but trust me, if it’s only half as cool as what was described to me, then this thing is a must-have for any Transformers fan. Plus it gives you an excuse to get a whole bunch of Legend Class Bots.

Crazy Transformers Re-Paint

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

I stole this from David Willis over at Shortpacked! This is an insane repaint of Thundercracker. These were Thundercracker’s original colours. Apparently, Thundercracker was really into electro in the early 90′s, but who wasn’t, really? I love the insane colours, and it makes me want to do something similar to one of my Transformers… which would probably involve me disassembling then re-assembling a Transformer, which doesn’t look easy.

I just got a Solar Storm Grapple, and while I dig the yellow, I think some psychedelic colours would be even more awesome. Well, if I were to actually do it, I may put a little more thought into the colours than this, but this is just an example.

Speaking of Solar Storm Grapple, we have a few of the new Voyagers in, including Strafe, Payload, Lugnut, and the hilariously named Banzaitron who seems to be a samurai robot ala Bludgeon. Come take a look, Strafe and Payload I also find pretty awesome.

Don’t forget about the movie party!

POLL: Tell us which toy related movies you want to see this summer!

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

So what excites you this summer in theatres? Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern) perhaps? I would have to say that I have very high hopes for Marvel’s Captain America, especially since they have really raised the bar a notch when it comes to Comic book movies. DC had better step up their game because the Watchmen just didn’t do it for me, or the box office for that matter. Though they definitely made a hit with The Dark Knight. Thor was pretty awesome, but I think that one is just a warm up to the things we are going to see this summer. The DC/Marvel battle continues on.

Transformers 3 is a tempting flick also, with Michael Bay doing his action packed epic deal and a new female lead. I have a very big soft spot for the Transformers toys, comics, movies… everything. I should also mention that if you are interested in this one we will be having a movie party for Transformers 3 at our store on July 6th. Click here for details.

On the other hand Cars 2, by Disney and Pixar, can’t be bad. It’s impossible. Well maybe it is, but I cant imagine that thing not being amazing. Especially after seeing the first Cars film and the recent Toy Story 3 *sheds a tear*.

New NAS at Toys on Fire! No, not the Rapper… a “Network Access Server”

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Due to a threat even greater than Unicron (potential file system failure on our deteriorating network servers), we at Toys on Fire have acquired this cool new NAS! (Network Access Server) It will protect our files like Optimus Prime protects the All-Spark from the evil Decepticons! Not that we feel like we need to talk to our customers in Transformers lingo for them to understand the situation, but it sure is fun.

Special thanks to our good friends at Over the Top Computing on Strandherd Drive for steering us in the right direction.

New Transformer Spotted at Toys on Fire!

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

This new Autobot was spotted just outside of Toys on Fire. It’s car mode is a Hyundai Elantra, but it told me it doesn’t have a name yet. Can you guys come up with a good name? All I could come up with was “Rusty” and I don’t think he liked that one too much.
