Saturday, July 16th, 2011Guys! Everything is crazy right now! We thought we might post some pics in order to tempt more people into coming! If you were already here, thanks a bunch!
Edit: Okay, these pictures don’t make it look that crazy, but believe us, it is.
The Ultimate Beyblade Champion!
Tuesday, May 17th, 2011Well this past Sunday was the final game in the 2010/11 season of Beyblade Tournaments, so we invited all our champions from each game of the season to compete against each other! Everyone fought valiantly, and I think everyone there had a great time! A big congrats goes out to our four finalists: Elias Sakkay, Christopher Oconnor, Samuel Ryan, and the #1 toys on Fire Beyblade Champion Matthew Castrucci, who now has a plaque in his honour mounted here in the store for everyone to see! Great Job guys, and thanks for coming in and spending time with us here at Toys on Fire!
Now the fun isn’t all over, oh no. We’ll be announcing more tournaments in June, so don’t worry, but for now we’re just so busy with all the other stuff going on this month. Stuff like our upcoming Tranformers 3 Movie Party, CanGames, Anime North, and the Ottawa Children’s Festival, not to mention the plans we’re working on for this summers’ anniversary event on July 16th (which will include a Beyblade tournament too, as well as the ever awesome guys from the Star Wars 501st Legion, who just might stop in in time to congratulate the winners!)
Heroscape Demo CONFIRMED for Toys on Fire Halloween Hootenanny!
Wednesday, October 6th, 2010
Between 12:00PM – 4:00PM our good friend Eric will be running a Heroscape demo! I’ll let Board Game Geek explain:
This Fantasy Battle Board Game comes with dozens of painted plastic miniatures, each representing a warrior from a different era, and hex-based hard plastic terrain pieces which can be put together in many different ways. The warriors include 30 plastic figures, including World War II soldiers, futuristic robots, aliens, a T-Rex-riding orc, a large dragon, and many more. Each hero or squad has its own card that details both movement and combat abilities.
It’s crazy popular here, and you can do some really wild things with it. Don’t forget to check out the blog for more details on the Halloween Hootenanny!
Also, did you hear AC/DC was coming?

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra Pizza Party
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009
Woo! After the raging success of the Transformers 2 Pizza Party we’ve decided the have a party celebrating everyone’s OTHER favorite 80′s toy: G.I. Joe and their new movie. So, if you were at the last Rock ‘n’ Roll Pizza Party, it’s the same drill as last time, if you weren’t, here’s the rundown:
- Call, email, or come to the store in person and tell whoever’s working that you want to be part of the GI Joe Party.
- Cough up $15.
- Show up at the store on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 6PM.
- Party, chow-down on pizza and pop, watch some GI Joe cartoons, show off your Joes; anything you want, really.
- Get your ticket from us (which we’ve already purchased.)
- Walk over to the theatre around 8/830PM, and skip the line-up.
- Get in to the theatre, sit in your RESERVED seat.
- ???
- Profit – I mean, enjoy the movie.
So yeah, just to clarify, your $15 will get you pizza, pop, a ticket, and a reserved seat. Pretty good deal, eh? So don’t hesitate to come, it was great fun last time. We had 33 people show up last time and everyone had a good time.
Hope to see you there.
