Just in time for the opening night of Ottawa Bluesfest comes another Iron Maiden figure! This time it’s Eddie from the cover of Piece of Mind! It actually won’t be out until August, but this is good timing on NECA’s part! Man, I’m so psyched for the show on Tuesday!

These ones feature ball-joints in the shoulders so now you can create scenes of cheering or awkward embraces! The choice is yours!

The Jonah Hex figures have arrived and fans will be pleased to know that they look great, with likenesses that manage to do justice to John Malkovich as Quentin Turnbull , Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex and, of course, fan favourite and femme fatale Megan Fox as Leila. Each one stands about 6 inches tall and you can expect weaponry from the film to accompany the figures. Not to mention some pretty sweet cowboy hats. Look for the figures over in our Jonah Hex section:

Now, we know the figures are awesome and the Hex figure would make a great buy for fans of the character even beyond the film. But unfortunately, it seems like the movie itself isn’t looking too hot as it makes its way into theatres… Right Celebrity reports:

Early Hex reviews have called the western picture the possible “worst film of 2010”!

First the plot – “The U.S. military makes a scarred bounty hunter with warrants on his own head an offer he cannot refuse: in exchange for his freedom, he must stop a terrorist who is ready to unleash Hell on Earth.”

Sounds pretty good so far, right? Plenty of possible action ahead, decent plot and with a great cast line up of stars from Josh Brolin, to Megan Fox, John Malkovich, Will Arnett and Michael Fassbender. Apparently the Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor penned story falls short thereafter due to the mix of sci-fi with reality. Brolin’s alter ego, Jonah Hex, and his ability to resurrect the dead for interrogation purposes conjured a few chuckles among movie critics, calling it “stupid, supernatural bulls**t”!

Here’s what ComicBookMovie.com had to say when it came to Hex:

“I dont want to give away the ending but I will say the final showdown between Turnbull and Jonah Hex wasn’t very climactic. And honestly that was my biggest problem of the movie was the rhythm of it. It has a good story line but it was not well paced. It was slow for too long so as the viewer you would loose interest in the movie. I wouldn’t go as far as saying its the worst cbm ever, but I will say it had so much potential and I honestly was really let down.”

One source also went on to say that “Even with low expectations this film was a complete and utter mess.” Overall opinions in regards to the plot just go from bad to worse.

Boy howdy, all of us at Toys on Fire sure are *cough* excited that Twilight New Moon is coming out, and so is NECA apparently.  This time, they decided to release a whole set of figures a good 2 months before the movie is slated to hit theatres (as opposed to last time where I think we saw the figures a whole month AFTER the movie came out.)   This set features Edward (or as I like to call ‘im “Ol’ Eddy,”) Alice (“Ol’ Ali,”) Jacob (“Ol’ Jakey,”) and Bella (“Ol’ Girl-Face,”)  Anywho, we have them all right now, even the ones from the old movie!  So please, if you like Twilight at all, come buy these.  I’m so tired of sexy vampires who sparkle… so very tired…

Hello everyone, it’s April 22. Earth Day! Now I am not entirely sure what goes on on this holiday or what color t-shirt I should wear, but we should all sit down for a moment and think about how cool our planet it is, and maybe just for one fine April afternoon, do something to help your mother nature, or even just go out and enjoy it.

For me its a different story, after I finish writing this I will be heading to see Lucifer, or as you may know him…. the Dentist!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!! I’m sure I will be in all of your prayers this afternoon. This is going to be more painful than being forced to sit down for 2 hours and watch Hillary Duff‘s Cinderella Story until the end.

On a moreso positive note, my favourite hockey player, AHL Superstar Denis Hamel won the Yanick Dupré Award as the AHL’s MAN OF THE YEAR!!! Now that is just sweet! According to www.BinghamtonSenators.com, the award is presented annually to an AHL player for his outstanding contributions to his local community and charitable organizations. For me, a huge Denis Hamel fan, this is a momentus occasion, knowing that my favourite dude on the ice also happens to be an amazing good-willed not-so-clean-cut but very friendly citizen off the ice. Congrats to you Hamel! Everyone(Dave) who said I was crazy for cheering this man on can go suck a lemon. In the mean time I will be oggling, and perhaps buying the two sweet Hamel jerseys that are on Ebay this week. You can never have enough Hamel Jersey’s, thats what I always say. Military Series 7!!! Thats right baby! It has finally arrived, check out these bad boys right away! These military figures are getting more detailed with every new series. I can’t wait until the next two series come out, supposedly they are going to be WWII themed. All you history buffs out there get ready and keep an eye on our military section. MLB Series 21 is in store and available online aswell. The series stars Alfonso Soriano 3 and his variant, Daisuke Matsuzaka with a special World Series logo on his cap, Joe Mauer, Jorge Posada 2, Michael Young, and Nomar Garciaparra 4. Check them out here. Quantities on these hot figures are very limited at the moment, so get them quick before they sell out like every other baseball figure that has come through this place.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Figures! Yes, our prayers have finally been answered. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and the notorious Raphael have joined us here at Toys on Fire, styled just like the origional comic book series you all know and love. These figures came in just a couple days ago, and are almost all gone. We are trying to get more at the moment, but these figures are way hotter than anyone could have ever imagined. They fly off the shelves faster than milk and hotcakes combined. Good job to you Neca! (Also we are trying to get more hotcakes)

Spawn Series 33, or as the Romans say, Spawn XXXIII.This series is much cooler than the last couple that McFarlane has put out lately. It features a nice Egyptian theme, complete with Spawn the Immortal, monsters for him to slay, and sexy Egyptian ladies. Check it out here.
