We are offering pairs of advance screening passes for Fast Five to anyone who comes into the Ottawa store, mentions this blog post, and joins our email newsletter(while supplies last, we only got a few).
If you are already a subscriber, don’t worry, we have a contest happening on the newsletter as well.
The advance screening will be the evening of Wednesday, April 27th.
If you thought all the upcoming movies based on toys and games were getting out of control with MONOPOLY, BATTLESHIP, STRETCH ARMSTRONG and the whole Target kids department, it looks like things are going to explode on screen like Christmas morning.
According to Pajiba, Paramount and Hasbro are working on something called HASBRO FACTORY, which is being described as A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM set in (durhurr) a Hasbro Factory. The project is currently in search of a writer to play with.
It seems that although a number of Hasbro’s popular properties are already in the works as solo projects (or characters appearing in other movies, like Mr. Potato Head in TOY STORYs), the company still has countless minor brands that could be served by such a concept. Some examples of other names under the Hasbro umbrella: Barrel of Monkeys, Operation, Play-Doh, Jenga, Connect 4, Easy-Bake, Spirograph, My Little Pony, Mouse Trap and, perhaps most importantly, Hungry Hungry Hippos.
Hasbro also handles toys for big franchises like G.I. JOE, TRANSFORMERS, STAR WARS and Marvel, but it’s unknown if any of those characters would/could appear in the movie.
Holy moly, what a movie! Needed more War Machine, though. I’d like to thank everyone who came out to make this our best movie party yet! I hope the next one will be this good. Perhaps the Thor movie?
Disney answered my prayers. With the teaser for Tron Legacy they said “Who wants a new Tron movie?” And anyone with eyeballs said, “I do, I do!”
So this puppy is going to have great special effects, it’s going be in IMAX 3D, and it has one more piece of the puzzle that made my ears drool (it’s a disgusting condition, I know, but I couldn’t help it.) They announced Daft Punk (the best electronic duo (probably) ever) would be doing the soundtrack! Thinking about this, I can’t imagine another band doing a soundtrack for a new Tron movie. It’s a match made in heaven. This movie will be a feast for the senses! I won’t even care if the movie turns out to be as mentally stimulating as Avatar, my brain will be too busy screaming due to sensory overload!
Here’s the trailer:
Here’s a clip of Daft Punk’s piece of the soundtrack.
That soundtrack thing could be fake, but it sounds pretty good anyway.
Woo! After the raging success of the Transformers 2 Pizza Party we’ve decided the have a party celebrating everyone’s OTHER favorite 80′s toy: G.I. Joe and their new movie. So, if you were at the last Rock ‘n’ Roll Pizza Party, it’s the same drill as last time, if you weren’t, here’s the rundown:
Call, email, or come to the store in person and tell whoever’s working that you want to be part of the GI Joe Party.
Cough up $15.
Show up at the store on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 6PM.
Party, chow-down on pizza and pop, watch some GI Joe cartoons, show off your Joes; anything you want, really.
Get your ticket from us (which we’ve already purchased.)
Walk over to the theatre around 8/830PM, and skip the line-up.
Get in to the theatre, sit in your RESERVED seat.
???
Profit – I mean, enjoy the movie.
So yeah, just to clarify, your $15 will get you pizza, pop, a ticket, and a reserved seat. Pretty good deal, eh? So don’t hesitate to come, it was great fun last time. We had 33 people show up last time and everyone had a good time.
Sideshow has done it again! Cobra Commander has never looked so good (or rather, so menacing) immortalized in plastic before. This 12 Inch figure features all of the nescessary details, and every single unnessecary add-on, weapon, and extra you can think of. Like usual, the clothing is made out of the real material, and it is extremely poseable.
Also, not only do we have this work of art, but we have all the toys from the up and coming G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra action figure in stock! And don’t forget the G.I. Joe Movie and Pizza party we’ll be having here at the store on August 7th, at 6PM! $15 will get you pizza, pop, a ticket for opening day, and a reserved seat in the theatre!
Now there aren’t a whole lot of details on this yet, but there haven been rumblings of a Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen movie party going on at the store! Perhaps you came to the last one we had for the original movie launch. It was a really good time! Lots of rare Transformers and stories being swapped, and of course everyone was pumped for the movie! So keep your eyes peeled on the blog for more details soon to come.
