Beyblade tournament 6: Halfway to the championships!!!

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

Well now, our sixth Beyblade tournament just wrapped up and it was a blast! (No really, someone’s beyblade blew up, it was really cool to see!) I’d like to congratulate our prize winners, and thank everyone for coming and having fun with us today!

Now in the spirit of fun, We’re always trying to make our tournaments and events even better, so that each event is better than the last! If any of you guys have any ideas about what would make for better beyblading at Toys on Fire, Let us know!!! You can come and talk to us (or even email us right now!) and we will consider every suggestion. For now, though, in the coming events you can really get in the groove with cool battle music while you Rip, and coming soon we will have exhibitions for beyblade tricks! I’ve seen some cool tricks from some of our more experienced participants, from scooping up a beyblade and keeping it spinning in the palm of a hand, to hopping a beyblade from arena to arena, and I’m sure there are more tricks you guys can do, so we will be announcing a demo section in one of the next few tournaments where we will be filming these tricks you guys can do, and putting them online on our site for all to see!

Minecraft. You need this game.

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Minecraft is a game about digging and building and it will BLOW YOUR MIND. You’re on an island, and you need to survive. Survival means you need tools, shelter, and food. You can collect and build all of these things and then you can explore more islands, and get lost in underground caves, and find dungeons, and fight monsters and… Oh, just watch this video!

If this didn’t convince you, how about this – The game is still in Alpha (two steps before being complete) and it’s already sold 580,000 copies (that’s up 100,000 since I bought it two weeks ago) at about $14 CAD each and it’s ONLY 1 GUY! The whole things is pretty incredible.

Go to the website if you want more information or if you want to buy it. You probably should buy it.

Tron/Daft Punk? Match made in Heaven?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Disney answered my prayers.  With the teaser for Tron Legacy they said “Who wants a new Tron movie?” And anyone with eyeballs said, “I do, I do!”

So this puppy is going to have great special effects, it’s going be in IMAX 3D, and it has one more piece of the puzzle that made my ears drool (it’s a disgusting condition, I know, but I couldn’t help it.)  They announced Daft Punk (the best electronic duo (probably) ever) would be doing the soundtrack!  Thinking about this, I can’t imagine another band doing a soundtrack for a new Tron movie.  It’s a match made in heaven.  This movie will be a feast for the senses!  I won’t even care if the movie turns out to be as mentally stimulating as Avatar, my brain will be too busy screaming due to sensory overload!

Here’s the trailer:

Here’s a clip of Daft Punk’s piece of the soundtrack.
That soundtrack thing could be fake, but it sounds pretty good anyway.

Maybe Toys on Fire will have a Tron party? Hmmm!

UPCOMING EVENT: Game Summit Summer 2009!

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Hey Folks!

Just a reminder that the 2009 Summer Game Summit is coming up soon! Some of you are wondering what that is right now, and I’ll tell you. It’s Ottawa’s bi-yearly classic gaming convention. Good old fashioned dice rolling or minature moving or card playing. It’s fun for everyone, with a plethora of board games for people to rent out and try! There’s also lots of Warhammer, W40k and Lord of the Rings tournaments for those with miniatures armies itching for a fight, and an RPG den for people to learn how to play D&D ! I’ve also heard there will be Pokemon and Chaotic tournaments as well. For those more artistically inclined, there’s (miniatures) painting workshops, where you get your very own little miniature that you can practice your painting on and keep after! There’s gonna be loads of paints and and paintbrushes for people to use. Of course, the most obvious reason to go is because we’re gonna be there!

So without further ado, here’s all the info:
