Hey guys! After numerous requests from people to get this going again, we have decided to do a few game nights this fall. So for all of you who are interested, here is the 2011 game night schedule.

2011 Game Night #4 – Tuesday, November 15th 2011
2011 Game Night #5 – Tuesday, November 29th 2011 Time: 6:30pm – 10:30pm (Extended Store Hours)
Games: We bring a different selection of games every night and also encourage attendees to bring in some of their games that they would like to get played. The is always a wide variety of options.
Food / Drink: We have cold cans of pop and water bottles available for purchase as well as a large selection of assorted candy/gum for those who don’t want to bring their own snacks.
Bring Friends! Please invite friends and tell others about these events. We always love to see new faces and want to develop the size of the gaming community in Ottawa.
One final note: While we want as many people to play the games they want to play as possible, it does mean we may not have either enough interest or players to play certain games. If you come with the intention of playing a specific game, please do not be discouraged if we do not play it this time. We want everyone to have an open mind about trying new games they haven’t played before.

Otakuthon is now over, and boy did we have a blast! We saw some really great costumes this year, check out the photos below. We saw everything from Sailor Moon and Minecraft Creepers to TinTin and a guy Dressed as a Battleship!
This show keeps getting bigger and better each year with an increasingly growing number of attendees and A-list special guests. Look out Anime North because we have got the makings of a future contender here!
Also, it looks like we will be headed to the Montreal Comic-Con in September. The guest list includes Adam West and Stan Lee. Stay tuned for updates!
We’re nearing the end of our series 2 of the Toys on Fire Beyblade tournaments!
The next tournament is Sunday, August 21st, 1pm-3pm at Toys on Fire in Barrhaven (Outside if the weather is good)
As usual registration is $5 and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as some door prizes. You are required to have at least one beyblade to play with, but more is usually better!

well we’ve now wrapped up 16 (count ‘em) Beyblade tournaments, and boy do you guys love them! Our next tournament is set for August 7th from 1 pm to 3 pm here at the store, so grab your best Bey and come out to play! We’re into our series 2 of the Toys on Fire Beyblade tournaments! The 14th tournament last Sunday, got a large response and a lot of new faces! The next one coming up will be a special exhibition Tournament on Saturday, July 16th 10am-12pm, during our 6th Year Anniversary Party! If all looks good up in the sky, we may even be able to play outside.

That’s right, we’re back and ready to go with an all new season of Beyblade tournaments right up to the end of September! for those of you who don’t know, our first season was a great success, culminating in the Tournament of Champions where we awarded the best Beyblader around, but now is your chance to challenge that title in seven new tournaments, and the dates of those tournaments are:

Each tournament is on a Sunday from 1PM to 3PM, so mark those dates down on the calendar and don’t forget, because it’s gonna be awesome!
Well this past Sunday was the final game in the 2010/11 season of Beyblade Tournaments, so we invited all our champions from each game of the season to compete against each other! Everyone fought valiantly, and I think everyone there had a great time! A big congrats goes out to our four finalists: Elias Sakkay, Christopher Oconnor, Samuel Ryan, and the #1 toys on Fire Beyblade Champion Matthew Castrucci, who now has a plaque in his honour mounted here in the store for everyone to see! Great Job guys, and thanks for coming in and spending time with us here at Toys on Fire!
Now the fun isn’t all over, oh no. We’ll be announcing more tournaments in June, so don’t worry, but for now we’re just so busy with all the other stuff going on this month. Stuff like our upcoming Tranformers 3 Movie Party, CanGames, Anime North, and the Ottawa Children’s Festival, not to mention the plans we’re working on for this summers’ anniversary event on July 16th (which will include a Beyblade tournament too, as well as the ever awesome guys from the Star Wars 501st Legion, who just might stop in in time to congratulate the winners!)

Registration: Registration is $11.00 for Kids and $14.00 for Adults (3d Admission and Reserved Seats).
You can add $5.00 To join in on the Pizza/Pop.

More Event Details: Party at the store will be a ‘Transformers Social’. Bring your favourite or cool and rare Transformers to show off. We will screen an older TF film also in the store and setup some tables/paints for some customization during the social.
