Toys on Fire: Now with Comics!

Friday, July 8th, 2011

Not to step on the toes of our good pals over at the Wizard’s Tower, but for a limited time only we will be selling off Phu’s old and massive comic collection.  The collection spans from about 1980-1995, culminating with a bunch of the 1st issue speculations from the early nineties.  There’s a ton of DC (Superman/Batman/Green Lantern), a bunch of Marvel(Spider-Man/Captain America/X-Force), and little bits of Image(Spawn/W.I.L.D. Cats/Youngblood), Valiant, and Malibu sprinkled in for good measure.  If you’re a comic collector, you should probably come take a look because we may have glossed over some hidden gems.  There are an awful lot of comics.

It’s $3.00 per comic, or 5 comics for $10.  Not too shabby considering there’s a lot of consecutive issues of some comics in there.

We’re still bagging and boarding/experimenting with display formats, so you can expect some increases in selection in the future.

‘Nuff Said!

Batman: Arkham City

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

Oh heck yes!  Anyone who has played Batman: Arkham Asylum should be psyched about Arkham City!  Arkham Asylum took place in Arkham Asylum, as you may have guessed.  It’s premise was that the Joker had taken over the asylum and let all of the inmates loose.  Luckily (or unluckily) all of the inmates happen to be some of your favorite Batman villains.  Arkham City will be no different and features the likes of Catwoman, Two-Face, and some lesser known villains like Calendar Man.   Just check the trailer out:

And to tide you over until the game comes out in October (yeesh) Series 2 of the Arkham Asylum figures are on their way!

DC Comics Going Digital

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Anyone using a Mac or Playstation product and wants to read DC comics will be in luck! No longer will you have to own real, PAPER copies, and risk paper cuts! NO! Now you can do everything digitally! This is definitely something good for the iPad. Here’s the full article if you’re curious.

DC Comics, publisher of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and Fables, is partnering with comiXology and PlayStation®Network for two separate digital comics distribution deals launching today, Wednesday, June 23. In addition, a DC Comics App for the iPhone®, iPad® and iPod® Touch is available allowing consumers an easy way to access DC Comics’ content. The announcement was made jointly today by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.

Could this be the beginning of web-exclusive-comics action figures from the Big Two? That would be kind of neat, actually.
