Once again, DC is just going crazy pulling heroes out of their vault to make figures for the DC Universe line. Not being a huge DC fan, a lot of these figures go right over my head. For instance, who’s Stargirl? Who’s Lord Naga? What’s a S.T.R.I.P.E.? I have a vague idea of who The Atom is as I believe I’ve seen his action figure before. I know Sandman, but still haven’t gotten around to reading it. I know who Magog is because I read Kingdom Come (which I highly recommend.) Magog actually does what Batman could never do and kills the Joker. If that doesn’t peak your interest, I don’t know what will. It’s all beautifully drawn by Alex Ross as well. I’m sure I’ve ranted about this before. And if you’ve never heard of Hawkman… it’s not a big deal, but if you read this blog, you should know by now.
“So why would I want these if I’ve never heard of them?” You ask so politely. The answer is simple: They’re awesome. The DC Universe figures never cease to amaze me with the amount of detail and craftsmanship that is put into ever figure. There’s also something very classic all these figures. They all look how they should. They’re not stylized in any particular way, no crazy colours, no alternate costumes, just the characters how they should look.
We have a ton of them and I highly recommend a closer look if you haven’t already taken one.
