Fijit Friends: Newbies in Stock

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

The Fijit Friends are now in stock at Toys on Fire. I’m told that these are different than the normal Fijits as they have the subtitle of “Newbies”. I wish I knew what that meant, but we here at Toys on Fire are very new to the Fijit game. I assume it means that these are smaller and cheaper version of the regular Fijits that don’t have as many features, but they are Fijits none-the-less! They sing, and if you “nuture” them they sing better.

I’m so confused! It’s a Christmas miracle..? I’m sure we’ll understand by tomorrow.

Cars 2 Toys IN STOCK!

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

We are well aware that this seems to have taken forever… But we finally got our first cases toys from Disney and Pixar’s summer animated film Cars 2. All of your favourite characters are in there from the new movie just in time for the beginning of the Christmas season. The DVD will be released November 8th, 2011.

Cars 2 Plot from wikipedia:

Four-time Piston Cup champion race car Lightning McQueen returns home to Radiator Springs and reunites with best friend Mater and girlfriend Sally Carrera. Former oil tycoon Miles Axlerod, now a green power advocate, announces a racing series called the “World Grand Prix”, as a means to promote Allinol biofuel. Although McQueen initially refuses to participate, Italian formula race car Francesco Bernoulli‘s challenge, as well as Mater’s intervention, leads McQueen to enter the Grand Prix. At Sally’s urging, McQueen agrees to take Mater with him, only to have the tow truck embarrass him repeatedly in Japan with his jovially ignorant antics.

Cars 2 Plot from Toys on Fire Staff:

McQueen and Mater go to Japan. Hilarity ensues.

Christmas Come

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

Two things to talk about this week. The first is to remind you that Christmas is but days away! Finish your shopping already! If you have any shopping to do here, and you’re on the newsletter list, don’t forget to use the coupon we sent you.

Second, I just read Kingdom Come which is written by Mark Waid, and beautifully drawn by Alex Ross. I say “drawn” but Mr. Ross is actually more of a painter. He does these nearly photo-realistic envisionings of the heroes, and it’s quite excellent to look at. The story wasn’t half-bad neither. I would recommend it for the teenage-and-older comic fan out there, but there’s nothing in it that’s really too terrible for kids. It also serves as an explanation is to why we have a Green Lantern figure that looks like John McCain.
