Wow, I am officially Mega-Bowled out for this year! That was exciting! Congratulations to Saturday’s tournament, 1st place Matthew, 2nd Place Tony, and 3rd Place Ethan. Also a big thank you to everyone who came out, we very much enjoyed hanging out and playing games with all of you! Also stay tuned for the next big events coming this spring!

Wow, that was a crazy tournament, but after some rules clarification we got on a roll. Every kid played well, and I feel like everyone had fun. We’ll be at the movie theater in Barrhaven all week teaching people Bakugan, as well as other activities. We’re also having another tournament on Saturday, so come on out! Psst! Did you know that the Ottawa area now has three (count them, three!) major annual anime conventions? Did you also know that Toys on Fire makes an appearance at all of them? That’s right anime fans, we’re letting you know extra early that Naru 2 U will be back this year, at the Travelodge (1379 Carling Ave.) on October 10^th-11^th. What is Naru 2 U? What’s an anime convention? What IS Anime? Well, Naru 2 U is an anime convention that debuted last November with an attendance of 600 people (a fair feat for a debut). Even we don’t know much more about it so far, except that Stephanie Beard, actress, voice actress, and former host of YTV’s the Zone will be returning to chat with fans. Now, if you still don’t know what Anime is, it’s a particular type of animation from Japan, (Gundam, Sailor Moon, Naruto) but it also includes Japanese videogames like Nintendo or Final Fantasy. Anime conventions are a chance to learn about new anime, meet people with similar interests, dress as your favorite character, and have lots of fun! But don’t forget to come say hello to yours truly in the dealer’s room!

That’s right, it’s coming up! The Montreal Toy Con! Like Christmas, this awesome toy convention comes once a year. Looking for that hard to find GI Joe? Or that Exclusive Transformer? Or even want to re-live your childhood? This convention is for you. It has everything from Webkinz, to McFarlane Hockey figures, even some old wrestling DVD’s! If you can make the drive, it is well worth it. Lots of fun. And Toys On Fire will be there, live! We’re making the 2 hour drive, so why can’t you?! They still tease me for getting us lost last year on the way…How was I supposed to know that the google earth maps where wrong? . Enough blabbering, here’s the vital information you need!

Toys On Fire has restocked our dice display! We have everything from small D20 dice, to 1 pound bags of dice! Seriously…who would ever need a pound of dice!? Apparently lots of people, as they sell out quick! We have large D20′s, and even some D100′s

Hey Guys! So we’ve made the arrangements, and the dates have been set. The Toys on Fire March Break Mega-Bowl is go! We’ve got a ton of activities for everyone, some only taking a few minutes so you can easily just jump in before or after a movie. Here’s the details for the schedule for the Mega-Bowl:

*Registration is required for the Bakugan Tournament. You can register anytime at our store or at any Bakugan workshops. There is a registration fee of $3 before the tournament and $5 during the day of.

Most of our customers, both new and old, are amazed by our selection of NHL McFarlane figures, we have an entire wall of them, and then some! As some of you may have noticed, we were getting kind of low (I didn’t know that was possible!), so, we restocked! Everyone’s favorites are now back in stock, Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Patrick Roy, and the hometown Ottawa Senators, Alfredsson, Heatley, and Spezza! These are the perfect gift for the NHL fan in your family!

Superheroes may be banned from doing their jobs in The Watchmen, but they’re more than welcome here at Toys on Fire! We now have series 1 and 2 of the Watchmen figures, including Nite Owl, Silk Spectre, Rorschach, Ozymandias (series one), as well as The Comedian, Dr. Manhattan, classic Nite Owl, and classic Silk Spectre (series two).

Speaking of the Watchmen, the movie appears in theatres everywhere on March sixth, but we’ve got the original story right here in paperback! That’s right we got so exited about the movie that we brought in the twelve issue collection in graphic novel format. You may say it’s just a comic book, but it’s also one of Time Magazine’s one hundred best novels of all time!

Did someone say comic books? Yes True Believers, we’ve recently brought in a collection of Marvel Comics collections! These collections highlight some major events to have happened in the Marvel Universe over the past decade. Plus! A special X-Men: Vignettes edition detailing stories from the Classic X-Men books, and a special black and white graphic novel titled Blade the Vampire Slayer – yes, he was a comic book hero long before Wesley Snipes played him on screen! By the way, all these titles are on sale at US prices, so these are a fantastic deal!
