I am here to talk about the winners of our In Store survey! You know, that pesky survey we had next to the cash? Well we were giving away prizes for filling that out, so those who did not fill it out miss out! How many times did I say the word “out” there? Anyways, the following people have won $25 gift certificates to our store:Samantha (Did not leave last name!)
Janet (Im seeing a trend here!)
Tim (…Last names do not exist )
So, I guess all these people are like Cher, and don’t like their last names…That’s cool, but there may be many people who have the same name, but, we will be calling these three people, so it your name matches the three above, and you do not get a call, sorry, but you did not win
Yeah…That I guess will do it, a blog without pictures, Gray’s gonna kill me.

Hey Everyone,
Brawlmaster Steve here, and I’d like to thank all of our 14 participants and their various parents for making our second Bakugan Tournament such a success! We had a great turnout with some great weather as well. Unfortunately, the stores camera wasn’t in working order so we don’t have as many pictures to post. We do however have pictures of all the winners!
Congratulations to our top 3 players this time around:
In 3rd Place: Zackary Stocks (left)
In 2nd Place: Connor Smoleaars (right)
In 1st Place: Anthony Ha (center)
Unfortunately (Or fortunately for some) we did have a few people who managed to take most of the draw prizes.
Draw Prize Winners:
1 – Zachary Stocks
2 -Ian Sinclair
3 – Zachary Stocks
4 – Ian Sinclair
5 – Avery Smith
Thank you to everyone who came, and again special thanks go out to Brawlmaster Dave, without whom the tournament would not be possible to run! Now I know a bunch of you are anxious to see whether we’ll be running a third Bakugan tournament or not. You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out

These new “old” G.I. Joes have got people talking (and buying) like crazy! It seems like everyone has a story about a Joe they had when they were younger, and with every wave that comes out there seems to be more trips down memory lane.
For myself, I was a little to young to remember the Joe heyday, but I do remember my cousins’ collection. They grew out of them, and they became part of the regular rotation of toys at the cottage. Countless Joe limbs and torsos were strewn about the bag, mostly due to those pesky elastics and their constant snapping, but there were a few Joes still intact. These became the prize toys among the younger kids, and the one that I remember in particular was Cobra Commander, with his fancy blue suit, wacky helmet, and what looked like a completely opaque visor. Now that I’m older, I’m still fascinated by Cobra Commander’s look, and I’m this close to buying one. Oh the hazards of working in a toy store.
If you have any G.I. Joe related stories, please feel free to share them, and I’ll put them up on the site, if you wish. For now, I’m just going to put pictures up of the new wave of Joes we just got in stock.

I cannot repeat myself enough on this one boys and girls. The Halo 3 Series 2 Action figures came prancing in our door yesterday and are now up for sale. They feature removable helmets, on average 20 points of articulation and removable armor plates. Lets take a look… (feel free to click the pictures for more info and larger images)

So first up is Master Chief, thought to be the last surviving spartan soldier. Except the other spartan soldier action figures just throw that theory right out the window. Looks like he comes with a wicked cool rifle and what appears to be a grenade? This figure is likely going to sell out quite fast, so I might recommend getting one soon before you never see it again.

Next we have the EVA Spartan Soldier, and I believe that stands for Extra Vehicle Activity if you were wondering. This one is really cool, his helmet is like 90% visor, whereas Mister Chief’s helmet is somewhere around 47% visor. He comes equipped with a Covenant Sniper Rifle and a grenada. This particular figure will be likely just as hot as master chief if not hotter.
Here is the EOD Spartan Soldier, or Explosive Ordinance if you wanna be a jerk about it. His helmet is like 1/20 visor but 2.0 awesome because it has some sort of thermal air filter tusks attached to it. Not to mention he comes with a SHOTGUN and a ‘nade! Some argue for days as to whether it is green or olive. But one conclusion of awesome can be made certain and everyone’s eyes.

Here is the Drone, I don’t know what to say about this one outside of the fact that it looks like a giant fly. Probably not going to be one of the hard to find ones, but I have been fooled before.
Lets talk about the packaging for a moment. Now, just like Spawn Series 34, McFarlane has chosen to put these figures on cardboard-backed clamshells instead of the traditional all-plastic clamshells he has used for the past 8 years. I am not sure why he has gone this route, but I am sure he will continue to confuse and amaze me for years to come. Anyone who has the inside scoop on this packaging change please comment on this post to let everyone know.

Back on track now, here is the CQB Soldier (Close Quarters Battle), and darn tootin’ he comes with a SHOTGUN and a garnade! If I were six inches tall I would not want to be cornered by this guy. He looks like he eats green berets for breakfast. (Much like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Commando, oh man that was a good movie. “Let of some steam Bennet.” Hahaha! I’ll love you forever Arnold.)

Brute Stalker, terrifying. This guy is huge, and so heavy that the glue holding the clamshell packaging onto the cardboard backing occasionally gives out. He comes with a helmet to hide his giant ugly monkey-face. Actually his helmet kinda reminds me of Sauron from Lord of the Rings. Eerie none the less.

The Arbiter. Sweet! He has Gold armor and a BEAM SWORD! Wooo! Man that beam sword is shiny I just wanna hold it and whoosh it around a little. This figure will likely be one of the hot ones if not the hottest figure in the series. Every other figure can just go and take a hike. Just kidding. But seriously, this figure is THE ONE. (not like Jet Li, man that was a bad movie. “I am a Multiverse agent.” Hah!)

Finally, the figure you have all been waiting for. Why didn’t they put this guy in series 1? The ODST. (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) He basically drops out of space, lands in your neighbours yard, and tears the place apart, leaving nothing but the stick the dog used to be tied to. Shocking, I know, but that is just what this guy is about.

Lastly, the Spartan Soldier Scout, or the SSS as I like to call him. He comes with a rifle, too bad he never gets to use it. The color tan is pretty cool though, he could team up with the ODST for an 80s police sitcom and call it Black & Tan.
We have received 10 cases of this series and after the first day 5 are now remaining. I could never fully explain the gravity of the situation. Get them fast people, they sure are nice. Cheers.

Looking for Bakugan Toys??? CLICK HERE
So we’re having a second Bakugan Tournament here at Toys on Fire. So it’s about time I mention all the details. Well here goes:
When: Saturday July 19th, from 2 – 4 PM
Recommended Ages: All Ages!
Registration: As with the last tournament, you’ll have to come into the store to register. There will be a registration fee of $3 this time around. It’s slightly more than the last tournament, however the raise in the fee is to cover the cost of the prizes we’re giving out (see below). As with the last tournament, we will only be accepting 20 players.
Prizes:
1st place – $25 Gift Certificate + 1 Booster Pack
2nd place - $15 Gift Certificate + 1 Booster Pack
3rd place - $5 Gift Certificate + 1 Booster Pack
5 Draw Prizes - $5 Gift Certificate
Yes, thats right, there’s gonna be 8 prizes this time around, and they won’t just be Bakugan, they’ll be for anything we have in the store!
Tournament Rules:
We will be providing Arena’s to facilitate play.
Each player will be expected to bring their own 3 Bakugan and cards.
There will be several Brawlmasters (judges) monitoring the matches to make sure they are fair.
Changing Bakugan and cards between rounds will be allowed. However once a round starts, you will not be able to change your Bakugan or cards until after it’s over.
The use of shooters will be allowed; however shooters must shoot from off the arena!
The tournament will be run in a Round Robin Style. The top players from each table will play a second round. The top player from each table will play a final match to determine who wins.
Game Rules:
Here are just some game rules clarifications for the next tournament:
- If you miss with a Bakugan (the Bakugan does not stick to the card) then you must put down an uncaptured card if you have one.
- If your Bakugan sticks to the card but does not open, it still counts as having opened. Note: The magnet must be stuck to the card for this to count. If a Bakugan rolls over a card and stops without the magnet sticking, it still counts as a miss!
- If two Bakugan land on a card, it must be flipped up. If both the Bakugan belong to the same player, he captures that card for himself and is allowed to shoot his Bakugan that were on the card again on his next turn.
- If you have no Bakugan left to shoot, but do have Bakugan on an uncaptured card, you may call stand. Pick an uncontested card (A card with only your Bakugan on it) . You capture that card. You may roll the Bakugan you got back on your next turn. (You don’t get to shoot again this turn)
- Preyas: Preyas has a special ability that makes him a random attribute (colour). You do not get to choose which attribute he becomes, whatever symbol is showing on his chest is the attribute he becomes.
- Captured cards cannot be replayed on the board (unless another card makes a player do so). They are counted as points equal to their HSP value.

I’d like to thank all the participants of our first Toys on Fire Bakugan Tournament! You guys made it all a huge success! We had 19 of the 20 registered players and a whole slew of parents attend. Special thanks goes out to the parents who helped watch over the tournament and facilitate play while the judges were watching other tables. As well, thanks goes out to Brawlmaster Dave Mason, without whom the tournament wouldn’t have run nearly as fluidly!
As usual we’ve snapped lots of photo’s of the tournament, which ended up inside the store due to the rain. While a little crammed, we managed to get enough room to run the tournament and still have fun!
And now we present to you our prize winners! Winners of the random draw (Pictured Right):

1st Booster Pack: Eric Woodard (Not shown)
2nd Booster Pack: Aaron Klausen (Top)
6 Pack: Nick Best (Bottom)
Winners of the tournament (Pictured Left):
Tied for 2nd: Zack Stocks (Top) & Jack Drummond (Middle)
1st Place: Tony Luo (Bottom) with 1500 Points!
Thank you to everyone who came for making this tournament a success! Hopefully the kids had fun and the parents understood the mystery of the little plastic marbles a little better!
Now, I’ve got some more exciting news! Because of the success of the first Bakugan Tournament, we have already planned a second one for Saturday July 19th! Hopefully this one will be a sunny day so we can stick to our original plan of having it outside! Details will follow in a few days, but as usual, you need to sign up in the store, and this time the administration fee will be $3. This is to lower the impact of the loss we take for giving out prizes, of which there will be more this time around!
Anyways, here are some more photos of the whole tournament to entice the rest of you guys into registering early for the next one. As with the last tournament, we are only taking 20 players, so register early if you’re interested!
